quality will confirm the correctness of Your choice.
1.
GENERAL PROVISIONS
Requirements of the mounting instruction are valid for PSL
series transfer platforms. The document is intended for per-
sonnel familiarization with the platform’s design, sequence
and rules of its installation as well as with rules of installa-
tion of dock leveler series SL model S on the platform. When
installing dock leveler additional mounting instruction on
platform’s installation and adjustment shall be used. This in-
struction is supplied together with the platform. Every opera-
tive rule during performance of hoisting and transportation
activities, civil, welding and electrical work shall be followed.
Content of the document cannot be a basis for any legal
claims. ALUTECH Company reserves the right to perform de-
sign changes as well as to make changes and additions to this
instruction.
2.
SAFETY MEASURES
Only qualified personnel who know the design of transfer
platforms and dock levelers, their installation procedure and
who have passed safety training is allowed to install transfer
platforms and dock levelers.
Installation should be performed only in work clothes which
does not hamper movements and protective helmet.
Drilling work with coming off chips, metal chopping and cut-
ting should be performed in safety glasses. Respirators shall
be used for protection of respiratory organs from construc-
tion dust.
Special bag or box shall be used for carrying of operating tools
to working place. Special belts shall be used for packing of
tools during work. It is forbidden to put tools into pockets of
work clothes.
3.
WORK WITH ELECTRIC TOOLS
Only persons who have passed special training and induction
at the work place and who have the required level of qualifica-
tion in electric safety are allowed to work with electric tools.
Electric tools working from circuits with voltage not higher
than 380/220V should be used. Choice of tools class is based
on rooms hazard rate as per category of electrocution.
Metal housing of electric tools working from circuits with volt-
age over 42V AC and over 110V DC in rooms with higher risk,
extremely dangerous and outdoor facility shall be grounded.
Plug shall have a grounding contact. Electric tools’ connection
shall be done to a grounded electric circuit. Used extension
cords shall have grounded plugs and sockets. When working
with such tools protective equipment shall be used (rubber
gloves, gumshoes). Protective equipment shall be tested in
accordance with the procedure established by the legislation.
Prior to the work beginning the following SHOULD BE
DONE:
•
check completeness and reliability of elements fastening;
•
visual check of cable conditions (cord), its boot and alimen-
tation plug; consistency of insulation housing parts, handle
and cover of brush holders; presence of protection covers
and their operability; operability of grounding circuit (be-
tween housing and grounding contact of a plug);
•
check of switch operability;
•
check electric tools operability at no load operation.
Only serviceable, checked and sealed tools shall be used.
During work it is not allowed to have breakages, bends of an
electric wire. It is also not allowed to pull wires in structures
and materials storage areas, and in areas with vehicle traffic.
When working with electric tools it is FORBIDDEN:
•
to hold tools by wire;
•
to remove cutting chips or rasping from cutting tools, as
well as to replace cutting tools before full stop. Fastening of
consumable working tools should be performed only with
designated tools;
•
to connect electric tools to a circuit with characteristics that
do not match to the ones specified in the technical data
sheet;
•
to relocate electric tools from one working place to another
with a switched on electric motor;
•
to leave unattended electric tools connected to an electric
circuit as well as electric tools with switched on electric mo-
tor;
•
to leave unattended energized tools in order to avoid its
usage by unauthorized persons.
Upon heating of electric tools’ housing it is necessary to make
technological breaks. Upon smell, smoke, big noise and vi-
bration appearance it is necessary to disconnect electric tools
from an electric circuit until malfunctions are incorporated.
When performing work it is necessary to control that cables
or wires energizing electric tools do not have a direct contact
with metallic objects, hot, wet or oiled surfaces in order to
avoid electrocution if insulation is damaged. It is also neces-
sary to control that wires connection points to contacts of
hand electric tools do not have tensions and wires do not
have breakages.
Crossing of electric wires (cables) with electric welding wires,
hoses for supply of oxygen, acetylene and other gases is not
allowed.
4.
ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION WORK
Electrical installation work should be performed as per «Op-
erational code for electrical installations» and «Power system
safety standards».
