8. Troubleshooting Guide
We have carefully tested and have found no problems in the supplied VP500-103. However, we would like to offer suggestions for the
following issues:
Symptom
Resolution
Media Player Does Not
Function
1. The unit may be loading data from the USB/SD/MMC storage device, which can take a while.
2. If you are certain the unit does not function, unplug the power adapter and plug it in again.
No Display on Screen
1. Check if the power adapter is properly connected.
2. Make sure the AV or HDMI cable is connected properly.
3. Remove the SD/MMC memory card or USB device and plug in again after the unit is turned on
normally.
4. If media player is connected to TV with AV cable, set TV source (output) as TV/PAL/NTSC
(according to type of TV), press AV button on remote control to set the media player output as
AV.
5. If media player is connected to TV with HDMI cable, set TV source as HDMI, then press HDMI
button on remote control to set the media player output as HDMI.
6. If you continue to have trouble, connect your local distributor.
Movie File Won’t Play
1. Double check the movie formats supported by this media player, then make sure the media
player is functioning normally.
2. If the movie file format is supported by this media player, try rebooting the unit.
3. If it still does not work, the file may not be supported.
Cannot Adjust Subtitle
1. Keep in mind that some videos or movies downloaded from the Internet come with subtitles
programmed already. If this is the case, the subtitles feature of this device cannot be used to
make any changes to the subtitles.
The Idle Image (simple
USB icon) is Displayed,
Not the Default Track
1. Check the USB stick. It may be damaged or missing.
2. If the USB stick is present, check the files. If necessary, reload the MPEG2 files.
