ACCESS SOFTWARE AND/OR MAP UPDATES
Software and/or map updates can be accessed by connecting the PND-K3msn to a PC.
The PND-K3msn’s Owner’s Manual can also be accessed the same way (internet connection
required for either function).
Periodic software and/or map updates will be available. Some may require an additional fee,
please refer to the on-screen instructions.

Connect the PND-K3msn to the PC using the provided USB cable.
4 Follow the on-screen instructions.

Turn on the PND-K3msn.
3 Open “My Computer” on the PC. Click the “Alpine Update” icon that appears.
Software Update: When a software
update is available, this button will be
active. Follow the on-screen instructions to
access the software update.

Install the cradle in your vehicle and place the charged PND-K3msn in the cradle.
To activate your free trial:
Turn on the PND-K3msn and press the MSN Direct button (butterfly) on the
Main Menu screen.
Write down the Product Key for your PND-K3msn device.
Log on to http://www.msndirect.com/Alpine and follow the instructions to
activate MSN Direct.
