8.9 Firewall:
The DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) option provides you with an option to set a single
computer on your network outside of the router. If you have a computer that
cannot run Internet applications successfully from behind the router, then you
may place the computer into the DMZ for unrestricted Internet access.
Note:
Putting a computer in the DMZ may expose that computer to a variety of
security risks. Use of this option is only recommended as a last resort.
?
Enable SPI:
When checked, the extra state information will be reported
on the Status > Active sessions page.
?
Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) also known as dynamic packet filtering
helps to prevent cyber attacks by tracking more state per session. It
validates that the traffic passing through the session conforms to the
protocol.
?
Enable DMZ means
that computer may expose to a variety of security
risks. Use of this option is only recommended as a last resort.
If you have made any changes or deletions, click on
Save Settings
at the top of
the page. If your configuration settings are complete, click
