Switches
Each model has two switches:
❑
Terminator switch that can be used to manually terminate the BNC
network port (50 ohms) See Figure 6.
❑
MDI/MDI-X switch which is an internal signal crossover (MDI/MDI-X)
on 10Base-T Port 1.
The Terminator switch enables or disables internal termination at this end of
the 10Base2 segment. If installing a link segment with a BNC-T connector on
this port, and if using external termination, set this switch to the OFF
position to disable termination. If installing a link segment without a BNC-T
connector at this port, that is, the unit is at the end of the cable, set this
switch to the ON position.
