Test/Set-up
a
Power the reader.
The reader will go through a power on sequence, ending with 3 green LED
flashes combined with 3 beeper tones.

Add credentials to the access panel following the panel manufacturer’s
instructions.

Present a supported credential to operate the reader.
Default LED indicators:
• Short green blink indicates the credential was successfully read.
• Continuous red indicates the credential was not read successfully.

Configure the reader with the mobile application.
Download the ENGAGE mobile app and follow the in-app directions.

Troubleshooting

MTB reader is not powering up.
No LED, no beeps.
Check power connections and check that the power source is ON.
MTB reader fails to read credential.
Card type is not enabled.
Use ENGAGE mobile app or configuration cards to enable card type.
Card type is not supported.
Acquire a supported credential.
Mobile credential not in range.
Move device with mobile credential closer to the reader.
Power on sequence ends in 3 red
blinks.
System failure.
Contact Allegion Customer Care and follow the prompts for Product Support at
1-877-671-7011.
Access control panel does not
receive data from MTB reader.
Incorrect wiring.
Ensure the MTB reader wiring is correct and matches the input standard the
panel is configured for.
RS-485 not in sync.
Some RS-485 panels require the reader to complete sync. Follow the access
control panel manufacturer’s procedures for triggering a synchronization
sequence if applicable.
MTB reader commissioning fails.
Reader can only be commissioned
for the first 2 minutes after power on.
Disconnect power from the reader, then apply power again.
The reader was previously
commissioned.
Apply MTB reset card to the reader within 1 minute of power on, then
commission the reader.
The reader is still commissioned in
another site.
Delete the reader from the other site it is commissioned in. Then apply the MTB
reset card within the first 1 minute of power on.
ENGAGE mobile app is not
connecting to MTB reader.
Reader is out of range.
Get closer to the reader.
Reader was reset manually with a
reset card.
Delete the reader from ENGAGE and commission it again.

additional information on the specific technologies supported.
Android operating systems should be version 6.0 or newer. Apple operating systems should be iOS 11.1 or newer.

manufactured or supplied by the manufacturer or manufacturer's representative is used. ULC-S319 Listed
PSU must be used for Canadian installations.
