General information
Your HyMo Orthosis has been prescribed by
your clinician to help improve your daily living.
It should fit snugly against the body and provide
pressure on the trunk and extremities. It is
intended to improve your posture and increase
your joint stability. For example, to improve your
hip and shoulder position.
The changes may not be instant, you may only
feel slight changes initially. This feeling is a founda-
tion to build on and hopefully you will notice an
improvement over the coming months
The fabrics used in HyMo orthosis are carefully
selected and are produced & certified according
to Oeko-Tex standard 100, product class II.
Intended use
The HyMo orthosis is a textile orthosis in the
form of a body and / or trousers with short or
long sleeves and legs. The orthosis is intended
for patients with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. The
garments are custom-made with a focus on stabi-
lising and limiting the range of motion in
the joints.
Indications
Ehlers Danlos Syndrom.
Contraindications
Edema, dislocated joints (not reduced).
Limitations
When used for pool training, a separate set of
orthoses is recommended as it is important that
orthoses, when used outside the pool, are clean
and dry. In order to achieve the best benefit
with your orthosis, it is important that it is used
every day at the beginning of treatment. Follow
the schedule for use in this information or as
recommended by your clinician.
Advise for applying and wearing HYMO:
Body
• Open all zippers and the closure at the crotch.
• Step into the garment and pull up over the
bottom and the hips.
• Thread in one arm at a time and then pull
up over the shoulders. Make sure the elbow
panels are centered.
• Pull up the front (long) zipper first and then the
rear (short) to get the shoulders in a good
position.
Trousers
• Open all zippers.
• Step into the garment and pull each leg separately
over your knees.
• Check that the knee panels are centered.
• Pull up the trousers to the waist and close with
zipper and Velcro.
• Make sure the seams run straight along the sides
of the legs.
Additional advice:
• If you develop a rash or fever, remove the
orthosis and contact your clinician.
• Be aware of your skin colour or body temperature
change. This may be a sign of circulation problems.
Immediately remove the orthosis and contact
your clinician.
• The Orthosis should fit snugly. It is normal to
see red marks around the neck and arm pits after
removing the Orthosis. This should last for about
30-40 minutes. If the red marks do not go away,
then contact your clinician.
Warnings:
• Should always be used dry, besides use for
pool training.
• Only for single patients use
• Not flame retardant
• Check garments and skin daily before use.

a maximum of 2 hours at one time.

per day until you have reached a usage of
8-10 hours a day.
