35703 SELECTION OPTIMA WRAP
Carefully read this instruction sheet before use!
Intended use
This support is intended for patients with various knee
pain. It assists in reducing knee hyperextension, gives added
M-L stability and can prevent tibia from moving forward
when patients presents with weak ACL. The ROM-hinge
can be utilized post surgery in stable knees. The support
gives a light compression and keeps the knee warm. This
support is only intended for one person use.
Indications
Mild/moderate knee hyperextension, Weak ACL, Partial
ACL rupture, Mild/moderate M-L Instability, Mild Osteo-
arthritis, Post surgery.
Contraindications
Severe knee injuries such as ACL/PCL ruptures. Not to be
used in contact sports or other high activities.
Be careful: Severe swelling problems and blood circulation
problems.
Adjustments
This product should only be altered by a medical professio-
nal person, with experience from fitting knee braces.
How to use the support
Check that you have the correct size. Some conditions can
result in swelling that can mean variations in size. If this is the
first time you are using a support it is important to start slowly.
Use the support for a short period of time the first day, then
increase the use gradually. The support should not be used
overnight.
Warnings
Do not use directly on open wounds. Use only on dry skin.
Do not use lotion on your skin. Make sure the straps are not
too tight. If any sign of skin irritation occurs, immediately
remove the support. Check your skin on a daily basis.
Material Specifications
This product is made from: Polyamid, polyurethane and spandex
with Aluminum uprights. This product does not contain Latex,
and is not flame retardant.
Washing Instruction
Close all Velcro prior to laundering. Machine wash in 40
o
C
(104
o
F). Use a washing bag. Dry flat. Do not tumble dry or
dry clean. Remove uprights prior to laundering.
Who to Contact
If any problems occur, remove the support and contact your
fitter or store where purchased.

Check that the support is complete and without damage.

This step should only be carried out be an authorized person.
Remove the joints from the brace. The brace is delivered with the
joints set for 10o flexion. If different flexion/extension control is
required, remove current flexion/extension stop and insert the
desired one from those supplied with the brace, on both sides.
If needed, shape the uprights to the contour of the leg. Avoid
shaping close to the joint area. Re-insert the joints into the brace.
2. If the brace should be fitted with the hyperextension cross, this
should now be mounted according to illustration no. 2. This is
done with the uprights in the brace pockets.
3. Open all the Velcro closures. Position the brace onto the leg with
the patella correctly positioned in the patella opening. Secure the
strap under the knee.
4. Then close the remaining straps on the front as showed in picture 4.
5. Secure the straps on the back side of the leg (picture 5 and 6).
6. If the brace includes the hyperextension cross, adjust tension
and snug this strap on the front of the thigh.
7. Then close the remaining straps.
8. Close the two straps under the patella. These two straps give a
mild support to prevent tibia from sliding forward. If these straps
are not needed - cut them off.
9. Adjust for comfort.
