Multimeter
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
To avoid the risk of electric shock or personal injury or the vehicle, follow these guidelines:
a.
Don’t use the mutimeter if it is damaged. Before you use it, check your structure and
the insulation of the leads.
b.
Check the cable tests, see if there are failures in the insulation or exposed metal.
Check if the cables are intacts, making the continuity test. Change the damaged test
leads before using the meter.
c.
Don’t operate the meter in places contening explosive gases, vapor or dust.
e.
Don’t operate the meter in voltages greater than those specified.
f.
Before using the meter, check the voltage selector and measure a known voltage.
g.
When measuring current, turn off the power circuit before connecting the meter in the
circuit.
h.
Use only specified replacements parts for the meter.
i.
Be carefull when operate the meter in voltages above 30VAC (RMS), 42V peak or
60VDC. Such voltages pose a shock hazard.
j.
When using the probes, keep your fingers behind the finger guards on the probes.
k.
Connect the common test lead before the red test lead. When you disconnect test
leads, disconnect the live test lead first.
l.
Remove the test leads from the meter before you open the battery door.
m.
Don’t operate the meter with the battery door or portions of the cover removed,
loosened or damaged.
n.
To avoid false readings, which could lead to possible eletric shock or personal injury,
replace the battery as soon as the low battery indicator appears.
o.
Warning. When an input is connected to dangerous live potentials it is to be noted that
this potential at all other terminals can occurs!

CAUTION
To avoid possible damage to the meter or to the equipment under test, follow these
guidelines:
• Disconnect the power circuit and discharge all capacitors before testing resistance
and diode.
• Use the proper terminals, function, range and the polarity for your measurements.
• Before measuring current, check the meter’s fuses and turn off the power circuit before
connecting the meter to the circuit.
•Before ratating the range switch to change functions, disconnect test leads from the
circuit under test.
• Remove the test leads from the meter before opening the meter case.
