TAPE PLAYER
Your sound system is fitted with a tape
player for playing magnetic tapes.
It has an Autoreverse function which
makes it possible to listen to both sides of
the tape without having to turn it over.
Playing tape
Fit the tape down into the proper slot un-
til hearing a click. If the sound system is
on the display will show “
LOAD
” during
tape loading then, playback will start auto-
matically and the display will show
“
TAPE
”.
To play a previously inserted tape while lis-
tening to the radio or CD, press repeatedly
button “
TAPE CD
” (

) until the display
shows “
TAPE
”. Pressing this button when
no tape is present will resume the previous
mode (Radio or Compact Disc).
If a tape is inserted, the display will show
symbol
J
, which remains on the display
even when different operating modes are
chosen (Radio or Compact Disc). The sym-
bol goes off after ejecting the tape.
Changing tape side
After playing the tape, the tape side is
changed automatically (Autoreverse func-
tion.
The display shows the side of the tape be-
ing played.

“ identifies the upper side and

“ the lower one.
To change side before the end of the tape,
press “

Automatic equalization
selection
According to the type of tape inserted,
proper equalization will automatically be se-
lected.
If using CrO
2
tapes or METAL tapes, the dis-
play will show “
MTL
”.
Tape fast
forward/rewind
Press button “
FF
” (

) for fast forward
or “
REW
” (
24
) to rewind the tape. Tape
side and direction symbol will flash on the
display.
To stop fast forward/rewind, press again
the previously selected button.
Searching previous/next
track
(Program Music Search
function)
Press button “
SEEK
˙
“ (

), to play
next track. The tape will move forward to
next track and playback will start; the dis-
play will show “
PMS UP
” and the num-
ber of next required tracks.
Press button “
SEEK
¯
“ (

) when lis-
tening to a track to repeat it again; press the
button again to play previous track.
During tape rewinding the display will
show “
PMS DN
” and the number of pre-
vious required tracks.
Press these buttons several times to move
forward/backward of several tracks (max
9 presses for next tracks and 8 for previ-
ous tracks with respect to the track being
played when selecting the function).
