m01~m14 – Test Procedures for QC/Production
Please note that all ModFX units (M01~M14) use this test procedure. The particular ModFX unit is currently under test
shall be referred to as the DUT (Device Under Test).
Items Required for Tests (one each unless specified):
· 1 - Alesis ModFX Final Assembly (DUT) with current firmware
· 3 - P3 Power supplies
· 1 - CD player
· 1 - Alesis Studio 12R (X3) and Power Cable or equivalent mixer
· 4 - 1/4" Unbalanced TRS Cables
· Headphones
· 1 - Alesis Footswitch
· Link test Fixture (2 Alesis ModFX units)

ROCEDURE
Setup / Procedures:
· Plug P3 Power Supply into power outlet but NOT into DUT rear panel
Check (If Cover is Removed)
· Visually inspect all internal cables to make sure that they are installed correctly
Diagnostic Mode

Turn all four knobs full left
=>

Press and hold [BYPASS] while plugging in the
=>
P3 power supply to the DUT rear panel
Potentiometers Test

Turn left knob to 9 o'clock position
=>
4
Turn left knob to full left position
=>
Verify that clip/signal LED turns off

Turn left knob to 12 o'clock position
=>
Verify that clip/signal LED turns RED

Turn left knob to full right position
=>
Verify that clip/signal LED turns ORANGE (RED
and GREEN at the same time).

Repeat steps 3-6 with other three knobs
=>
Verify that clip/signal LED turns GREEN
Switch Test
8
Press [BYPASS] several times
=>
Verify [BYPASS] LED "ON/OFF" activity
9
Press center switch several times
=>
Verify LED "ON/OFF" activity
10
Repeat step 9 with other center switches
=>
Verify LED "ON/OFF" activity
