Site Survey Tool 

•The Site Survey Tool is a portable engineering tool for measuring and monitoring the air interface of Wireless 
Local Area Networks (IEEE 802.11). This Tool helps to determine:

The quantity of needed Access points    

 

 

 

 

 

 

           

• 

The correct placement for these Access Points  

 

The Site Survey tool is mainly used by Alcatel Professional Services and Business Partners. A site Survey is 
required every time it is needed to perform a quotation for VoWLAN implementation. a VoIP audit is also 

necessary.

Here is a site survey result: Just compare the color to the scale: the light green area allows to get a 
signal strength of –65dBm or better corresponding to a MIPT set operation with good voice quality.
