Notes
(1)
This requires opening the unit. See section 5.2 in
Installation
.
(2)
You can connect external alarm equipment, such as a light or buzzer, which will activate when the Event Status LED or the
System Status LED lights. See section 25.7 for more information on external alarm equipment.
24.3
Rear panel LEDs
The rear panel indicators are mounted on the Control card. The six indicators are:

Troubleshooting
Power
Lit continuously
If the Power LED is not lit continuously:
•
verify that the power switch is on
•
verify that the power cable is correctly attached to the system and to an
unswitched power source
•
verify that the cable running from the power supply to the Control card is
securely attached
•
check the fuse to see if it is blown (follow the instructions given in
section 31.2)
•
check the power rails (see section 31.1)
Processor Flashes
(0.5 s on, 0.5 s off)
If the Processor LED stops flashing, check the alarm queues (as described in
section 25.2).
Event Status
Not lit
If the Event Status LED is lit, there is an unacknowledged entry in the Major
alarm queue. Check the queue for the alarm. See chapter 25 for more
information on alarms.
Not lit
If the System Status LED is lit, there may be a problem with one or more of the
following:
•
LIM
•
E1 interface
•
a module position configured as empty has a module
•
a circuit is out of synchronization with its associated DTU
•
trunk conditioning is being applied due to a E1 link failure
When a problem occurs, the System Status LED is updated every 10 seconds.
Out of Sync 1
Out of Sync 2
Not lit
If the Out of Sync 1 LED or the Out of Sync 2 LED is lit, communication with
the E1 network has been lost.
•
Check the E1 line.
•
Ensure that the E1 lines are properly connected to the Control card
connectors.
•
Check that the LIMs are seated properly on the Control card.
•
Verify that the far end is transmitting.
•
Perform a loopback on primary rate module P1 or P2 to isolate the unit
from the network. For more information on loopbacks, see section 27.6.
The Out of Sync 1 LED or the Out of Sync 2 LED is also lit if the module position
is configured as EMPTY and no module is installed.
