1.5 Fitting the Buckrake to the tractor
The Albutt range of Buckrakes are fitted with a range of holes for top and bottom links to suit
a large variation of tractors.
Fit the lower links in a position where the Buckrake will just touch the floor when they are in
their lowest position.
Fit the top link in the highest hole possible for your tractor to cause the Buckrake to crowd as
it is lifted.
Extend the top link so the tine tips touch the floor at the same time as the tine box section.
NEVER extend the top link to a point where the is only a small amount of thread left in the
top link sleeve. If this situation occurs, shorten the top link and position in a lower hole.
1.6 GENERAL OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
For all Albutt Buckrakes:
1) Ensure the gate is fully retracted.
2) Approach the silage and lower the Buckrake to the floor just before reaching the silage.
3) Lift the load of silage on the fork.
4) Carry the silage up the pit and unload over a large area by pushing out the gate whilst
moving.
5) Roll this silage down before pushing more grass over the top. This will produce higher
quality silage but will also ensure a firmer and more consistent silage pit for safer
operation.
6) When clearing up the floor, ensure the gate is fully retracted allowing the wear strip
underneath to scrape the floor.
