In accordance with the regulation of the VDE the
machie is interference suppressed.
OPERATION
Proir to switching on, make sure that the shredder
is standing on a firm base. The type of connecting
cable used must be no lighter than rubber hose
of the type BS 6500 (1984). Table 16 PVC 3-core
flex, 300/500 V HOS VV-F and must be fitted with
a rubber-coated plug fitted with a 13 A fuse.
It is strongly recommended that all outdoor power
equipment is used in conjunction with an Earth
Leakage. Circuit Breaker which can be obtained
from yout local power tool retailer.
In accordance with VDE regulations, the machine
is fitted with a safety cutout switch which switches
off the power in the event of overload.
Overloading may occur if the blade is jammed for
a prolonged period of time. The safety switch is
designed to cause a delay of 1 - 3 minutes be-
for the motor can be restartet: Prior the restarting,
however the cause of overloading must be ascer-
tained and remedied.
To restart the motor, the switch must first be re-
turned to the OFF position, the after 2 or 3 minu-

GENERAL POINTS ON SHREDDING
AND COMPOSTING
With the shredder, you have acquired a machine
which helps you break down organic waste from
your house and garden. This waste, when broken
down, is best used as compost for the biological
fertilisation of your garden, producing a rich hu-
mus.
The large unpleasant-looking heap of waste in the
corner of your garden will disappear, since shred-
ding the accumulated organic waste reduces its-
volume by almost two-thirds. After a few months,
the natural decom position process of the shred-
ded material will produce a rich, healthy humus,
sparing you laborious shifting of the compost.
The very short duration of this process is made
possible by the numerous ruptures resulting from
the shredding process, which provide excellent
points of attack for the micro-organisms. For the
growth of leaves, flowers, fruits and roots, plants
need important nutri tive elements, which they
