Overheating protection

The heater is fitted with an overheating protection which switches the

appliance off automatically if it becomes too hot internally. As soon as the

appliance has cooled down, the heating element switches itself back on.
While this features provides additional safety in case of overheating, first and

foremost you should make sure to eliminate all potential reasons that can

lead to overheating and create a fire risk.

Preventing overheating

To prevent overheating, check and ensure that the appliance can

sufficiently dissipate the heat generated. This is particularly important in

case the overheat protection has been activated.

•  Is the appliance covered? Make sure it is NOT covered.
•  Is the appliance too close to a wall or other obstacle? Always maintain

all required clearances (see page 9).

•  Are the grilles on the front or back clear? Is the ventilator blocked?

Make sure the air intake and outlet grilles are free of dust, lint and

obstructions.

If you cannot eliminate the problem, and the overheating protection

triggers a second time, contact the our after sales support centre (using the

details at the bottom of the page) and arrange for return of the appliance

for inspection or repair.

Frost protection function

The appliance is equipped with a frost protection function which

automatically switches to high heat output as soon as the room temperature

falls below 6°C. As soon as the room temperature reaches 10°C the appliance

automatically switches to standby mode.
Activate the main switch to switch the appliance on and to shift into standby

mode. The room temperature will be shown in the display.
The appliance now switches on if the room temperature drops below 6°C. In

the display the symbol for the frost protection function then flashes.

Tip-over safety switch

The appliance is fitted with a tip-over safety switch. If the fan heater tips over,

it switches itself off automatically. The fan heater can only be switched back

on when it is in an upright position and the safety switch has been activated.
