Getting Started
Before your first use
Preparing the wash load(s)
• Close any zippers and bra clasps to prevent damaging your clothes and the wash
tub.
• Brush loose dirt off clothes, empty pockets and turn them inside out.
• Sort your washing into appropriate loads: whites, coloureds, cottons, delicates,
heavily soiled, etc. It is important to separate white/light coloured items from dark
ones, as well as separating out sheets and towels.
• Wash new, highly coloured and dark coloured items separately to prevent dye
transfer onto other items.
• Some laundry items tend to shed lint during the wash (e.g., towels, chenille,
nappies), while others tend to attract lint (e.g., synthetics, polycotton, socks,
corduroy). It is a good idea to wash these items separately, where possible, and
turn ‘lint givers’ inside out.
• Place delicate items into a wash bag for protection.
You owe it to yourself and your washer to have your washer installed correctly.
Before you start, it is a good idea to go through the following checklist:
•
Has the washer been lifted out of the foam base packaging? Refer to page 8.
•
Is the drain hose installed securely to the machine using the provided ring clamp,
and is the hose threaded through the U-shaped hose guide and hooked into your
tub or standpipe? Refer to page 9.
•
Is the hot hose (
red
stripe) connected to the Hot valve (marked ‘Hot’) on the rear
of the machine? Refer to page 10.
•
Is the cold hose (
blue
stripe) connected to the Cold valve (marked ‘Cold’) on the
rear of the machine? Refer to page 10.
•
Is the washer correctly levelled, feet are extended and cabinet corners are clear
of the floor? Refer to page 12.
•
Before using the washing machine for the first time, run a complete cycle without
any laundry items. Select the ‘Standard’ program and run the machine until the
end of the program.
