PLAYBACK MODE

Is sound heard on E-E ?

Yes

Refer to section "NO E-E".

Does AUDIO signal appear
at pin 4 of IC4001 ?

Yes

Check AUDIO HEAD for debris or
stains.
Check the connector from AUDIO
HEAD is fully inserted to CP4005.
Replace IC4001.

Yes

Does AUDIO signal
appear at pin 96 of
IC4001 ?

Replace IC4001.

Yes

Does AUDIO signal
appear at pin 62 of
IC5501 ?

Check the circuit between pin 96
of IC4001 and pin 62 of IC5501.

Does AUDIO signal
appear at pins 53
and 57 of IC5501 ?

Check the circuit between pins
53, 57 of IC5501 and J4201.

Yes

Is the voltage at pin 58
of IC5501 DC9V and pin
40 of IC5501 DC5V ?
