CHAPTER 3: INSTALLATION
THE DRAM SIMMs
The on-board DRAM memory subsystem has eight module mounting
sockets which are divided into "banks' of four sockets each. These
banks are labeled Bank 0 and Bank 1. Single In-Line Memory Module
(SIMM) added to these banks must be installed a full bank at a time.
Start with bank 0, then work your way up. DRAM speed must be 80ns,
70ns, or 60ns. You can configure the memory of the 486SH in a variety
of ways. The chart below shows the possible combinations.

Four 256KB SIMMs = 1MB
Four 1MB SIMMs = 4MB
