- Lock the brakes and lift the legrests up. 
Do not step on the footplates, as the wheelchair might tip over. 
The attendants are recommended to carry out this operation by using their leg strength and avoiding bending or 
putting pressure on their backs. 
 

Troubleshooting 

 

Wheelchair pulls to one side:   

•  Check tyre condition 
•  Check to make sure that the wheel turns easily (bearings, axle) 
•  Check angles of castors 
•  Check to make sure both castors are making proper contact with the ground. 
 

Castors begin to wobble:    

•  Check angles of castors 
•  Check to make sure all bolts are secure; tighten if necessary 
•  Check to make sure both castors are making proper contact with the ground. 

 
Wheelchair squeaks and rattles:   

•  Check to make sure all bolts are secure; tighten if necessary 
•  Apply small amount of oil to moving parts
