4.4.2.3. PIN CODE (Immobilizer code)
The immobilizer function starts the engine only after a
genuine ignition key is recognised. In fact it is an
antitheft system integrated in the electronic circuit of the
vehicle, since it prevents its use to any unauthorized
person.
The dashboard “PIN CODE” mode must be used only in
the event of a malfunction (see §4.4.13.2). If, for any
reason, the system cannot recognise the ignition key
code, the authorisation to start the engine can be
obtained only by manually entering the secret code
shown on the MV Code Card received when the vehicle
is delivered.
Remove the cover from the frame on the back of the
MV Code Card and read the secret electronic code of
the ignition key (a random code is shown in the figure,
purely as an example).
Access the “SETTINGS” menu and press the “SET”
or “MODE” buttons to select the “PIN CODE” function.
In the event of an immobilizer error, access to the “PIN
CODE” function occurs when the engine is ignited.
