Before you start adjusting or repairing the device, always stop the engine and
remove the cable from the spark plug.
When putting the device into storage for a longer period, empty the fuel from
the fuel tank and carburetor, clean the parts, move the device to a safe place
and make sure that the engine has cooled down.
Examine the device periodically to make sure that it works safely and efficiently.
For a detailed inspection of your device, please contact the authorized service
shop.
Keep the device at a safe distance from fire and sparks.
It is believed that a condition called the Raynaud syndrome, which affects some
people’s fingers, may be caused by exposure to vibration and cold. Exposure to
vibration and cold may cause a feeling of numbness and tingling followed by
discoloration and stiffness of the fingers. The following precautions are strongly
recommended because the minimum exposure which can cause the syndrome
is not known.
Keep your body warm, especially your head, neck, feet, ankles, hands and
wrists. Keep your blood circulating well by doing vigorous hand and arm
exercises during frequent breaks and by avoiding smoking.
Limit the number of working hours. Try to fill each day with jobs which do not
require operating a trimmer (line trimmer) or other handheld equipment.
If you feel discomfort, redness and swelling of the fingers, accompanied by
pallor and loss of feeling, consult your doctor before being further exposed to
the cold and vibration.
Always wear ear protection because prolonged exposure to noise may result in
hearing deterioration or even hearing loss. Full head and face protection must
be worn in order to protect the body from injury caused by slipping or falling
into shrubbery, branches or bushes.
Wear non-slip, hardy gloves in order to improve the hold of your trimmer
handles. The gloves also reduce vibration transfer from the device to your
hands.
WARNING: The cutting zone is still dangerous while the device is stopping.
