4.3. Travel Adjustment

Before you do maintenance to the equipment,
disconnect the electrical power.

Mechanical Hazard!
Do not adjust the optical limits to an angle greater
than the hard stop travel. Doing so could result in damage to the stage and payload
and the possibility of injury. Maintain at least ±5° of overtravel between the optical
limits and the hard stops.
4.3.1. Optical Limit Adjustments
Stages with the limit option have the optical limits set at the factory prior to shipment. Stages
shipped with the limits option but without the brake option can be retrofitted to achieve a different
limit travel. Determine the amount of travel required and contact Aerotech to order the correct Limit
Flag.
The following procedure describes how to adjust the optical limits. Refer to
.
1. Disconnect all electrical power from stage.
2. Carefully remove the Bottom Cover from the stage. It is secured with three [QTY. 3] M2 Flat-Head
Screws.
WARNING

Mechanical Hazard!
The limit sensor is attached to the bottom cover. Do
not disconnect or break the wires that are connected to the limit sensor.
3. Remove the Plug and Limit Flag. The Plug is secured with six [QTY. 6] Low-Head Phillips Screws.
The Limit Flag is secured with the Plug.
4. Place the new Limit Flag on the shaft. Make sure that the Alignment Slot on the Limit Flag is
aligned to the notched, tapped hole on the shaft.
NOTE: The Unpainted Arcs on the new Limit Flag should face out towards the bottom cover, as
shown in
5. Place the Plug onto the Limit Flag and secure both with six [QTY. 6] Low-Head Phillips Screws.
Ensure that the plug is not blocking the through aperture.
6. Reattach the bottom cover to the stage with the three [QTY. 3] M2 Flat-Head Screws.
