Herbs with Upright Main Stem
– Sometimes an early pruning of a
plant, such as basil, will encourage the plant to branch out, rather than
grow straight up. For plants that will benefit from this, you should…

Follow the main stem up from
the base of the plant, past 3 sets
of leaves.
•
Cut the main stem just above
the 3rd leaf set.
