INFORMATION REGARDING INSTALLATION

ATTENTION: make sure that the

power supply has been disconnected

before carrying out any operations.

ATTENTION: before carrying out

any operations, put on appropriate

personal protective equipment.

ATTENTION: The unit must be

installed in compliance with national

regulations.

AT T E N T I O N : t h e e l e c t r i c

connections, installation of the fan

coils and their accessories must only

be performed by technicians who

have the technical-professional

r e q u i s i t e s f o r i n s t a l l a t i o n ,

transformation, extension and

maintenance of the systems and who

can verify these functions in terms of

safety and functionality.

ATTENTION: Install a device, master

switch or electric plug that allows the

unit’s power supply to be completely

disconnected.

ATTENTION: Refer to all the

documentation before starting the

installation.

Follow the indications below to install the

equipment correctly.

The completion of all operations,

according to specific requirements, is left

to the experience of the installer.

The water, condensate drainage and

electrical circuit ducts must be provided

for.

The fan coil must be installed in a position

that allows the air to be distributed

throughout the room and there are no

obstacles (curtains or objects) along the

passage of the air from the flow vents.

The fan coil must be installed in a position

that facilitates routine maintenance

(cleaning of the filter) and special

maintenance,

as well as access to

the air relief valve on the frame side

(connections side).

Do not install the unit in rooms where

flammable gases or acid or alkaline

substances are present that can

permanently damage the copper-

aluminium heat exchangers or internal

plastic components.

• Do not install the unit in workshops

or kitchens, where oil vapours mixed

with the treated air can deposit on the

heat exchanger coils, reducing their

performance, or on the internal parts

of the unit, thus damaging the plastic

components.

The VES_I unit is set up for connections

with air ducts.

VES_I fan coils are equipped with 5-speed

motors; it is possible to select the

3 operating speeds by modifying the

connections in the electric box of the

motor. The fan coils are provided with

standard speed connections. Refer to

the wiring diagram before changing the

motor connections.

• If the valve is installed, the water

minimum temperature probe can be

installed in two positions:

- in its seat in the coil;

- on the flow pipe upstream of the valve.

Refer to the thermostat manual before

choosing the position of the water

minimum temperature probe, according

to the preferred controlled logic. The

internal dip-switch settings of the

thermostat may need changing.

ATTENTION:

After completing the

installation check the operation of the

condensate drain system, the seal of the

hydraulic fittings, the insulation of ducts

and pipelines. Then run an operating

test.

DANGER!

Only qualified maintenance

personnel can access it.

Proceed as follows to install the unit:

- For wall installation, keep a minimum

distance of 160 mm from the floor.

- For ducted installation connect the

channels to the unit. Refer to the

drawing containing dimensional data.

The flow is provided with fitting flange.

- For wall or ceiling installation, use

expansion plugs (not supplied), make

sure that the unit is installed horizontally.

- For ceiling installation, use four M8

threaded rods to support the frame.

Fasten the unit to 4 threaded bars

using 8 nuts, 4 of which must be self-

locking. Use the nuts to adjust the height

and make sure the unit is installed

horizontally.

- ATTENTION: The fan coil must be

installed perfectly horizontal, otherwise

proper condensate water drainage

cannot be guaranteed.

- Make the hydraulic connections as

described in the relative chapter.

- Make the connection of the condensate

drain as indicated in the relative

chapter. The fan coils, which will run

only in heating mode, do not require

condensate drain.

- Make the electrical connections as

indicated in the relative chapter and as

indicated in the electrical diagrams.

- Connect and install the accessories.

- Power up the fan coil and check the

operation of the components and of all

the functions.
