9.6 Electrical connection
● Only qualified electricians are permitted
to make the electrical connections, in
compliance with the wiring diagrams in
the appendix.
● Make sure to observe the relevant
regulations with electrical installation; in
Germany this is particularly VDE 0100 with
the corresponding parts.
● Check the mains supply to the building
before commissioning. This must comply
with the voltage setting at the ventilation
unit.
● Fixed main power connection. Fixed
cabling is prescribed for the mains
connection, in a distribution box, for
example.
● Power cable and room air control are
already cabled in the electrical terminal
box.
● Lay all cables such that they do not
represent a danger of tripping.
DANGER
Danger to life from electric
shock.
Switch off the mains fuse at
the fuse box when carrying out
any work on the ventilation
unit’s electrical equipment.
Position a visible warning
notice to avoid the unit being
accidentally switched back on.
NOTICE
Damage to the unit caused by
objects in the ventilation
channels.
First install the ventilation unit
with all supply air and exhaust
air channels.
Then make the electrical con-
nections for the ventilation unit.
NOTICE
Risk of damage if ESD sensi-
tive components on the board
are touched.
Avoid direct touching of the
components or contact
surfaces.
9.6.1 Cable screw-connections
A
Power cable
B
Room air control (in the living
room)
W1, W2 Cable screw connection with
connection lead already cabled
in the ventilation unit
W3
Cable screw-connections (3x) for
the optional RB-D1-ZF4 room air
control and external components
(CO
2
/ VOC sensor or external
operating display)
NOTICE
Danger of short-circuits and
unit damage by a build-up of
condensation in the electrical
connection box.
Screw the cable screw
connections tightly closed, so
that no dampness can get into
the electrical connection box.
Only connecting cables with an
external diameter of 5 to 10 mm
are permitted. In the case of an
external operating display at W3,
e.g. 2 x 0.75 mm², external diameter
6.2 mm. For a CO
2
sensor at W3,
e.g. LiYY control cable 3 x 0.5 mm²,
external diameter 5.9 mm. For
control cable W2: LiYY 6 x 0.34 mm².
Loosen both quick-release clips and open
the front shutter downwards.
Remove the 6 screws that hold the front
cover in place. Remove the front cover.
Feed a customer-supplied connection
cable through the W3 cable screw connec-
tion into the electrical connection box.
Connect the cables as described in
Chapter 9.6.5.
