In both versions, the unit pulls air out for 70 seconds, then it pushes air in for the same time.
When heated air is pulled (extracted) from inside the room, it warms up the heat exchanger; when the cold air is pushed (supplied) in the room, it
gets preheated, recovering most of thermal energy which would be otherwise lost in the ventilation process.
The unit runs at the speed selected by activating the two-position switches “S1”, “S2” and “S3” of the CTRL-S (accessory Fig. 64). The same
functionality can be achieved with CTRL-S or with 3 two-position switches.
S3 switch activates the “Free cooling “ (Bypass) mode , which stops alternate fl ow and keeps the fan in “extract-only” or “intake-only” mode, to
avoid the heat exchange when necessary. To set the extract-only” mode or “intake-only”, place the integral jumpers as per Fig.21A or Fig.21B).
The front cover LED indicates when the Free cooling mode is on.
An automatic “Boost”mode can be achieved through a dedicated switch or room sensors like SEN-HY, SEN-PIR or SEN-CO2, connecting such
switch in parallel to the S2 switch.

In both versions, the unit pulls air out for 70 seconds, then it pushes air in for the same time.
When heated air is pulled (extracted) from inside the room, it warms up the heat exchanger; when the cold air is pushed (suppli
ed) in the room, it
gets preheated, recovering most of thermal energy which would be otherwise lost in the ventilation process.
The unit runs at the speed selected by activating the two-position switches “S1”, “S2” and “S3” of the CTRL-S (accessory Fig. 6
4). The same
functionality can be achieved with CTRL-S or with 3 two-position switches.
An automatic “Boost”mode can be achieved through a dedicated switch or room sensors like SEN-HY, SEN-PIR or SEN-CO2, connectin
g such
switch in parallel to the S2 switch.

Wiring diagram: Fig.5.i – Dip switch configuration: X010 (Fig. 5.l)
7.4 Variable speed operation through external domotic (BMS) system or ballast potentiometer
The unit runs at the speed set by turning the knob of an external 1-10V ballast potentiometer or set by an external 1-10V signal from a domotic (BMS) system.
Wiring diagram: Fig. 5.j – Dip switch configuration: X011 (Fig. 5.l)
7.5 Three speed operation with CTRL-S controller (accessory on request)
The unit runs at the speed selected by activating the two-position switches “S1”, “S2” and “S3” of the CTRL-S (accessory Fig. 5.n)
Speed 1 is set by turning the integral trimmer “V1” in the terminal box.
Speed 2 is set by turning the integral trimmer “V2” in the terminal box.
Speed 3 is the maximum speed achievable by the unit.
S3 switch allows to activate the bypass, so to mitigate the heat exchange when necessary - see 7.7.
Wiring diagram: Fig.5.k – Dip switch configuration: X110 (Fig. 5.l)
7.6 Anti-frost functionality
The unit is equipped with a thermostat which, when necessary, reduces the speed of the intake fan to prevent the freezing of the heat exchanger, which could
get damaged irreparably.
7.7 Bypass functionality
The QR180MBP is equipped with a physical bypass which allows to mitigate the heat exchange when the indoor and outdoor temperature combinates are
such that the heat exchange is not recommended.
Bypass can be activated through a dedicated switch (see Fig. 5.f to 5.j), or via the relevant switch integrated into the CTRL-S (Fig.5.k).
