1. Introduction
Welcome to AER.
Thank you for choosing an AER pocket tool. You have acquired a
high-quality, professional device that corresponds to the sound
of the „acoustic people“ in terms of equipment and functionality.
Please take this moment to read this short guide. We want you to
understand what the device can do and how it works so that you
can enjoy it for a long time.
The Colourizer 2 is a preamplifier for an instrument or micro-
phone (vocal or instrument microphone) that is integrated into
the signal chain between source and „destination“, e.g. Amplifier,
can be switched to improve the sound significantly. Improve
should mean shifting the “harmonic point”, i.e. to make the signal
stronger, more substantial and more stable.
This happens in several ways: at first simply by switching in
between. The high-quality input stage makes the sound much
rounder and fuller. In addition, through three individually
switchable and controllable filter systems: Tone, Enhancer and
Equalizer, which can be used individually or together and influ-
ence the sound relationships, the overtones and the frequency
spectrum. It can also be used to dampen natural resonances and
limit feedback.
In addition to the 24 V phantom power for a condenser
microphone, the Colourizer 2 is equipped with a professional,
adjustable DI output, which can be connected directly to a signal
mixer, and a phase switch.
All pocket tools must be operated with 24V power supplies.
A corresponding power supply unit is included.
