Troubleshooting
Before sending the device to the customer service, check in the following table if you can solve the problem yourself.
Problem
Possible Cause
Solution
No display (4)
No power supply
WArNING:
Turn the unit off before looking for the problem!
Attach the plug correctly; if necessary, check the socket with
another device for functionality.
Main switch set to OFF
Turn the device on by the main switch (13).
No sound
Speaker cables not properly
connected
Check speaker cables for proper, tight fit and proper contact
in the sockets.
Inserted disc is dirty
Clean disc; check with faultless disc for sound playback, if
necessary.
Unit is muted
Press MUTE (26) on the remote control to unmute the sound.
No image
Cables not properly connected Check cables for proper, tight fit.
Input signal for TV set not
correct selected
Set your TV set to the correct AV input.
No color
TV system not properly set
Change the setting under TV Type (PAL/NTSC).
Wrong color setting on TV set Adjust the color setting on your TV set.
Disc cannot be
read
No disc inserted
Insert a Disc.
Disc not properly inserted
Insert the Disc again, label up.
Condensation on laser
Moving from a cold to a warm environment can cause laser
condensation; the laser is incapacitated. Remove the disc and
leave the unit turned off for about 1 hour.
Remote control
does not work
Wrong directed
Point the remote control towards the unit.
Out of range
Ensure that the remote control is within the range of 8 meters
from the unit.
Batteries exhausted
Exchange the remote control batteries; observe correct
polarity!
Temporary
malfunction
Defective disc inserted
Wait approx. 10 seconds until the unit works normal again.
Wrong button pressed
Wait approx. 3 seconds and press correct button.
Electrical interference
Turn the unit for approx. 2 minutes off with the main switch
(13). If this does not solve the problem move the unit to a
different location.

Setup the TV set properly.
DVD 4621 HC video signal not
correct
Select the correct output signal (PAL/NTSC) for your TV set.
