Chapter 2

2.6 VGA connector (CN7)

The AIMB-740-6CB1 includes a VGA interface that can drive conven-
tional CRT displays. CN7 is a standard 15-pin D-SUB connector com-
monly used for VGA. Pin assignments for CRT connector CN7 are
detailed in Appendix B.

2.7 Serial Ports (COM1: CN9, COM2: CN10, COM3:
CN23, COM4: CN26, COM5: CN67, COM6: CN70 )

The AIMB-740-6CB1 offers six serial ports, CN9 as COM1 and CN10 as
COM2, CN23 as COM3, CN26 as COM4, CN67 as COM5, CN70 as
COM6.. These ports can connect to serial devices, such as a mouse or a
printer, or to a communications network.
The IRQs for COM1 and COM2 are fixed in IRQ3 and IRQ4, while those
of COM3~COM6 can ONLY be chosen from IRQ5, IRQ10 and IRQ11,
