The BIBETA 5 has split A-risers which make
it easy to activate big ears. A clamp (Vary-
Grip-System 1 ) also makes it possible to
fix the outer A-lines in big ears and leave the
glider in this configuration for as long as you
like. The lines can be pulled down as far as
the marks and fixed again in the clamp.
The paraglider can be steered normally with
the brakes while big ears are applied.

It is not essential to pump the ears out for
landing, particularly in strong wind. Brake
pressure provides enough pressure in the
ears to ensure that sufficient wing area will
be available for landing.
