from this field.
» Update Status
Read security: 5
Displays the status of the current firmware update. These fields are identi-
cal to those defined in Current Update Status on page 6-14.
» Config Transfer
Write security: 3; Read security: 5
Used only with TFTP transfers. Sends a file containing the ATLAS
_
800 con-
figuration to a file on a TFTP server using the TFTP protocol through the
10BaseT Ethernet port.
Config Transfer
also lets you save the ATLAS
_
800
configuration as a backup file, so you can use the same configuration with
multiple ATLAS
_
800 units. In addition,
Config Transfer
can retrieve a con-
figuration file from a TFTP server.
To support these transfers, ADTRAN delivers a TFTP program with
ATLAS
_
800 called TFTP Server. You can configure any PC running Mi-
crosoft Windows with this software, and store a configuration file. See TFTP
Server on page 12-9 for details on how to use TFTP Server.
Only one configuration transfer session (upload or download) can be active
at a time. The TCP/IP parameters are not saved or overwritten as part of an
ATLAS
_
800 unit’s transferred configuration; this way, identical configura-
tions can be sent to multiple units.
»» Transfer Method
Write security: 3; Read security: 5
Displays the method used to transfer the configuration file to or from a
server. Currently, you must use TFTP.
»» TFTP Server IP
Address
Write security: 3; Read security: 5
Specifies the IP address of the TFTP server. Get this number from your sys-
tem administrator.
»» TFTP Server
Filename
Write security: 3; Read security: 5
Defines the name of the configuration file that you transfer to or retrieve
from the TFTP server. The default name is
atlas.cfg
, but you can edit this
name.
»» Current Transfer
Status
Read security: 5
Indicates the current status of the update.
»» Previous Transfer
Status
Read security: 5
Indicates the status of the previous update.
Before using
Config Transfer
, the ATLAS
_
800 should have a valid IP
address, subnet mask, and default gateway (if required), and should be
connected to an Ethernet network.
