Mechanical Information 

9.2.  Thermal Solution 

9.2.1. 

Heat Spreaders 

The function of the heat spreader is to ensure an identical mechanical profile for all Qseven modules. By using a 
heat spreader, the thermal solution that is built on top of the module is compatible with all Qseven modules. 

9.2.2. 

Heatsinks 

A heatsink can be used as a thermal solution for a specific Qseven module and can have a fan or be fanless, 
depending on the thermal requirements. 

9.2.3. 

Installation 

Install a heat spreader or passive heat sink using the following instructions. 

 

 

Step 1: Remove the protective membranes from the thermal pads on the heat spreader or passive heatsink. 

 

 

Step 3: Align the heat spreader or heatsink with the module so that the thermal pads on the heat spreader or 
heatsink line up with their respective components on the module as shown in the following illustrations.
