Introduction

Note

: When an IDE HDD is installed on the front board, it occupies

the PMC1 (lower PMC) site.

Note

: When cPCI-6840 is functioning as a standalone without

RTM, the PMC1 site shall be occupied by IDE storage de-
vice.

Note

: The PMC-8631 is a SCSI-320 PMC module with rear I/O ca-

pability. When installing the PMC-8631 on the PMC2 (upper
PMC) site, the cPCI-R6840/6840V can provide SCSI inter-
faces on the RTM and rear faceplate.

Note

: The PIM will only work with a PMC module with rear I/O con-

nectivity on PMC2 site.

Note

: Should the user choose the SBC and RTM configuration,

first consider where the storage device will be installed. Us-
ers can choose external SCSI device, IDE device on the
RTM, or IDE device on the SBC.
