Immediately replace the APC to maintain correct airflow and
cooling. Failed APCs must be replaced within five minutes, or
the system does an orderly shut-down.
Caution:
The enclosure will overheat without adequate
cooling and airflow, which could cause damage to disk
drives and other components.
Installing an APC
Warning:
To avoid electrical shock,
do not
insert any
instruments or tools into the open APC slot.
To install an APC into the Storage Enclosure:

Ensure that the handles of the new APC module are lowered
(open).
Note:
Do not
use the handles to lift or carry the APC
modules.

Holding the APC module with the handles towards you, slide it
into the empty slot.

Gently push up on both handles
simultaneously to fix the APC
module into place (shown at right).

Secure the APC module by hand-
tightening the screws.
Do not
over-
tighten them.

Reconnect the power cable to the APC module’s power
connector.

Power on the APC module.
When their local power supply is detected, the fans return to
their normal speed.
