Note:
If you own a previously purchased
Adaptec AHA-3980/3985 RAID adapter with
software version v.1.01 or earlier, you can
obtain a free upgrade kit from Adaptec to add
bootable array support to your adapter. Con-
tact Adaptec Technical Support for this BIOS
and software upgrade kit. The kit includes
instructions on how to install the upgrade.
Changing AHA-398x Settings
The AHA-398x has the factory default settings
shown in the following table. These settings are cor-
rect for most computers.
You can change the settings with SCSISelect
®
, the
configuration utility that is built into the AHA-398x.
To do so, follow these steps:

If you have not installed the AHA-398x, do so now.

Start or reboot your computer.

When the SCSISelect message appears, press
Ctrl-A
. The SCSISelect screen appears, listing the
channels. The PCI bus number for the AHA-398x
precedes the channel letter. Channel A on PCI
bus 1, for example, appears as 01:A.

Each channel has its own setting. The default shown is for each channel.
