Magnetic Detection

When a tamper is detected, the corresponding Event Code will be entered into the
Fraud Detection Log. For more information on how to access this log, refer to
Event Logging and Errors/Alarms on page 48.
Magnetic Detection
The SGM1400-B Series meter supports a mechanism to detect external DC
magnets of 300 Gauss near the load side terminals. The Fraud Detection log will
report a Strong Magnetic Field followed by a Strong Magnetic Field Not Longer
(Event) when the magnetic field ceases. For more information on how to access
this log, refer to Event Logging and Errors/Alarms on page 48. Refer to the
Catalogue Codes on page 87 for details on ordering this variant.
Memory
SGM1400-B Series meters have non-volatile memory for storage of all
measurement data and basic meter information. The meters utilize three main
types of memory:
Random Access Memory (RAM)
The SGM1400-B Series meters have 640 kB of RAM, primarily for temporary
data storage during operation.
Internal Flash Memory
The SGM1400-B Series meters have 1.5 MB of internal flash memory for storage
of the main meter firmware and bootloader.
Serial Flash Data Memory
The SGM1400-B Series meters have 16 MB of serial flash data memory, which
maintains configuration and recorded data.
Firmware
The firmware is the critical portion of the system that sits between the headend
system, the metrological sensors, and the devices on the HAN.
Firmware Variants
The SGM1400-B meter has a separate firmware module for the metrology
processor and for the application processor.
A single metrology firmware build is used for the single phase (SGM1411-B and
SGM1412-B) and five-terminal meter variants (SGM1415-B, SGM1416-B, and
SGM1422-B).
