Chapter 3

48

Installing the Processor

1.

Put the fan/ heatsink on the retention mechanism, and install one side of the clip on the retention 
mechanism.

2.

Push one side of the clip to be locked on the retention mechanism.

3.

Do the same procedure for the other side of the clip.

4.

Pull the socket lever up to release the processor pins from the socket holes.

5.

Pull out the processor from the socket.

WARNING:The heatsink becomes very hot when the system is on.  Never touch the heatsink with any 

metal or with your hands.
