3 System upgrades

Installing an expansion card

Your server has two preinstalled riser cards designed specifically for use
in the 1U rackmount chassis. These riser cards allow two low-profile PCI
Express x16 cards to fit inside the chassis.

Installing a PCI add-on card

A riser card has already been preinstalled into each serverboard.
Perform the following steps to add a PCI add-on card:
1

Remove the server node (see steps 1 and 2 in “Replacing a server
node” on page 33).

Open the locking tab (1) on the PCI slot shield.

Remove the PCI slot shield (2).
