When the display indicates 100 %, lithium-ion batteries are fully charged. The PB300 Li-Ion can be operated
accordingly. For further details refer to the technical data.
21.3 Operating Mode 3: Operation and Charging
In the Operation and Charging operating modes, work with the PB300 Li-Ion can continue during the
charging process.
Do not turn off the PB300 Li-Ion for charging and plug the connection cable of the charger into a stationary
230 V AC socket. Then you will see the charge process begin on the battery controller on the front and the
percent in the display slowly rises.
The lithium-ion batteries offer the advantage of a booster charge. This is a charge process that
can be interrupted at any time.
That makes it possible to use every break (for lunch, etc.) to charge the battery.
However, if the PB300 Li-Ion is shut down automatically with about 10 % capacity of the battery
remaining, the battery capacity must be charged up to > 15 %. The PB300 Li-Ion cannot be turned
on again until this level is reached.
A complete charge of a battery with 10 % battery capacity lasts for about five hours.
Set up the PB300 Li-Ion during charging so that the ventilation grilles on the front and back remain
free.
Do not plug the connection cable of the charger into the socket of the PB300 Li-Ion, as this will not
cause the battery to be charged.
The following requirements apply to the charge process:
Check the charge cable for visible damage before charging.
Sufficiently ventilate the room where the P300 Li-Ion is being charged.
Smoking is prohibited and no open fire is permitted when handling batteries.
No flammable materials or sparking operating equipment are permitted in the area where
the PB300 Li-Ion is being charged within at least two meters.
Fire protection materials must be provided.
Do not place any metal objects on the batteries.
The charge cycle in the Operation and Charging operating modes depends on the connected
consumers. Normally the charge time is extended as more consumers are added.
