Important Information for Healthcare Professionals
Using the ACCU-CHEK Go system in a Multiple Resident Environment
The ACCU-CHEK Go system is not designed to be a data storage device in a multiple resident environment. This
means that the use of the meter does not replace the need for documentation that supports the quality control
and result report functionality required by facility policy or regulatory agencies.
Depending on your healthcare facility’s policy, you may be directed to record resident test results in the
resident’s chart or in a log. The results from each test should be recorded immediately after each resident test to
avoid misidentifying results.
Proper resident identification is achieved by ensuring that the glucose result is recorded in the correct resident
chart or on a log that prompts the operator to record the resident identification. Be sure to follow your healthcare
facility’s procedures and appropriate regulations.
Depending on your facility’s policies, procedures, and compliance standards, information about the meter and its
performance may need to be documented and retained for reference. Records could include:
• History of meter cleaning
• Results from control testing
• Results from resident testing
