If you need to throw your meter away:
The European Union has a requirement aimed at improving waste management practices for certain electronic
equipment.

This is not a requirement for the USA, however please consider these points if you ever need to
dispose of your blood glucose meter. Any product coming in contact with blood is considered contaminated
(potentially infectious).

During normal testing use, any blood glucose meter may come in contact with blood.
Users in professional environments (e.g., healthcare facilities) should follow their existing policies and
procedures that govern disinfection and/or disposal of potentially infectious waste. Consumers should use
appropriate caution if they find a need to dispose their used meter. We suggest that you also remove the
batteries before disposing.
