9 Maintenance and cleaning

xFUME

POWER 250

9.1 Inspection/service intervals

The specified intervals are standard values and refer to single-shift operation. We recommend recording the
inspections. The date of the inspection, the detected defects and the name of the inspector must be retained.

9.2 Replacing the filter

The filter can be replaced when the welding torch is mounted or disassembled.

CAUTION

Risk of injury due to unexpected start

If power is supplied during maintenance, cleaning or disassembly, rotating parts can start running
unexpectedly and lead to injuries from cuts.
► Switch off the device.
► Disconnect all electrical connections.

CAUTION

Cleaning with compressed air causes device damage

The filters are damaged and the device no longer functions properly.
► Replace dirty or clogged filters.

NOTICE

► Take appropriate precautions before conducting maintenance and cleaning work.
► Maintenance and cleaning work on the device may only be carried out in areas with locally filtered

forced ventilation.

► Only qualified personnel are permitted to perform work on the device or system.
► Check and wear your personal protective equipment.
► Also consult the operating instructions for the welding components.

Daily

► Check the filter and replace as needed



9.2 Replacing the filter on page EN

► Have an electrician check the cable, connecting hoses and

connections for damage and have them replaced if necessary.

► Check the general condition.

Weekly

► Clean outer surfaces.



Monthly

► Check the device for visible damage.
► Check all mobile parts and roll bearings for correct functioning and

replace them, if necessary.

Quarterly

► Have an electrician check the power source’s fans and have them

replaced if necessary.

WARNING

Health risk due to harmful dust

Improper filter replacement can lead to harmful dust and debris penetrating the ambient air. The
extraction device contains harmful welding fume particles as of the first use. These can harm the
respiratory tract if inhaled.
► Wear your personal protective equipment: respiratory mask, protective gloves, safety goggles, safety

shoes.

► Send bystanders out of the danger zone.
► Only use a suitable dust class H industrial vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the extraction device.
► Do not clean the device with compressed air.
