24 First access to the NETA-21 User interface and Firmware update
Connecting a local PC to NETA-21 operating as a DHCP
server
This section describes how to access the user interface by using NETA-21 that operates
as a DHCP server in the Ethernet 1 network (PC ETH 1 terminal), between the locally
connected PC and NETA-21.
1. Connect 12...24V power supply to the NETA-21 (X1) or NEXA-21 (X11) power input.
You only need to connect one power supply. The 2nd power connector can be used for
alternate power connection.
2. Start NETA-21 and wait until the STAT led turns Green.
3. Press and hold the SD/RJ45 button for 5 seconds.
4. Connect the PC to the PC/ETH1 port of NETA-21.

NETA-21 provides a dynamic IP to the PC.
•
The PC/ETH-1 LED indicates the connection status.
•
A fast Green blink indicates that NETA-21 is waiting for a connection.
•
Slow Green blink indicates that the PC is connected to NETA-21 successfully and
user can log into NETA-21 webUI.
5. Navigate to https://192.168.230.1 by using the PC’s web browser.
Notes:
•
To access NETA-21 in the DHCP mode the PC needs to use automatically assigned
IP address settings, and the connection between the PC and the NETA-21 ETH1 port
must be point-to-point. The Ethernet cable type can be either straight-through or
cross-connected (that is, any normal Ethernet cable).
•
If the web browser displays any certificate warning, add exception for the certificate
error and proceed. The local devices use only self signed certificate.
