5. Review, Maintenance and Cleaning
5.1. Review
The control unit must always be tested for visible damage before EVERY use, as well as their
functioning must be checked regularly, at least once a year.
In addition, the test cycles specified by the machine designer must be complied with. The visual check
relates to all components of the operating unit, including the connection cables.
The functional test must be carried out in accordance with the test procedures stated in Section 3.1
"Functional test".
In a regular cycle preset by the machine designer, an additional check must also be carried out to see
whether the requirements for additional protective measures and safety distances have been stated in
accordance with the procedures specified in Section 2.9.
All tests carried out must be logged, along with their results. If faults occur, then they must be
eliminated before fresh start-up.
5.2. Maintenance
The operating unit is completely maintenance free due to the materials used for the housing and control
elements
.
5.3. Cleaning
If the operating unit is soiled, it can be cleaned with a moist cloth, according to its degree of protection.
6. Corrective maintenance
If a test reveals that repair work on the operating unit is necessary, then the further operation must
immediately be ceased in order to protect the employee and the machine!
Any possibly repair work on the operating unit should always be carried out by ABB SOTZ-KONTAKT
GmbH!
