Step 4 –
Connect Control, Fire &Gas Primary Loads, Fire & Gas Battery String and
Supplemental Load Breakers
This Distribution Panel is configured for Control 150Adc Primary Load, Fire & Gas 80Adc Battery breaker, and 80Adc
Primary Load Breaker. The Internal wiring connections for all breakers are to copper bus attached to each breaker. A
300Adc shunt allows us monitoring of the F&G by the plant controller. Field Mounting hardware, M10 lug landings,
(less lugs) are provided for each connection. All cabling is through the DC Cable Entry Panel in the top of the
cabinet.
Caution: When cable penetrating cabinet chambers, ensure that wires do not contact sharp or rough surfaces that
may damage insulation and cause a short circuit.
1.
Verify all DC Panel breakers are off.
2.
Remove DC Panel cover (8 screws).
3.
Remove DC Cable Entry Panel at top
of cabinet (4 screws

socket).
4.
Punch appropriate size holes in the
DC Cable Entry Panel for both Control
and Fire & Gas Primary Load, Battery,
Ancillary Load, and signal & alarm
cables. Punch additional holes for
future use and install hole covers in
unused holes. (Recommended)
5.
Route all cables carefully through
cabinet. Use cable ties and
integrated cable management
features.
6.
Verify polarity of loads. Connect load
cables only to charger connections of
the same polarity.
7.
Connect Primary Loads if present.
Control side connections are to
terminal blocks with single hole M10
lug landings. (Lugs not provided).
Connect positive and negative cables
to the Primary Load breaker terminal
blocks. Minimum recommended wire
size is 4/0 (107mm²).
8.
Verify polarity of external batteries
for the F&G. Connect only to charger
connections of the same polarity.
Connections are to terminal blocks
with single hole M10 lug landings.
(Lugs not provided). Recommended
wire size is 4/0 (107 mm²).
9.
Confirm torque for all large frame
breaker connections to 140 in
-
lb. (16
Nm).
