6. Battery Connection Panels

 

Overview 

 

Function

 

Batteries are connected to the GPS 4827 cabinets on battery connection panels located in the cabinet 
directly below or behind the ac input panel. All panels include a battery shunt and an alarm card that 
communicates  with  the  controller  to  provide  battery  current  and  status  information.  The  optional 
panels  may  include  a  low  voltage  battery  disconnect/reconnect  (LVBD/R)  contactor.  When  equipped 
with a LVBD/R, a contactor control card provides local manual control of the contactor.
