Hexadecimal to Decimal Conversion
The unit ID configuration mechanism of DMP1616 is developed based on “hexadecimal numeral system”. Therefore, a
scientific calculator may be required when setting the unit ID of the IP address for DMP1616. Below is the procedure for
setting the unit ID:
1.
Define the IP address for your DMP1616.
2.
Convert the decimal value of the host bits of the IP address to a Hexadecimal value (consult the provided table).
3.
Set PINS 3 and 4 on the 8-PIN DIP switch according to the first digit of the converted Hexadecimal value.
4.
Set the rotary switch according to the second digit of the converted Hexadecimal value.
Example:
To set an IP address of “192.168.0.21” on your DMP1616, the rotary control should be set to 5 and the DIP
switches 3 and 4 should be set to ON and OFF, respectively. This sets a hexadecimal value of 15, which - converted to
decimal - is 21. Consult the included chart for hexadecimal to decimal conversion.
