HOW TO SYNCHRONIZE THE 3M

CLEAN

TRACE
™
LM1 LUMINOMETER

Definition
Synchronization is the mechanism that allows the 3M Clean-Trace Luminometer to communicate with the 3M
Clean-Trace Desktop Software. Refer to the 3M Clean-Trace Hygiene Management Software User Manual, for more
information on Sync Manager and synchronization.
During this process, specific information flows from the Luminometer to the Desktop Software and from the
Desktop Software to the Luminometer.

Information flowing from the 3M Clean-Trace Desktop Software to the 3M Clean-Trace Luminometer includes:

Users and details
▪
Sample plans, Test points and Test details
▪
3M Clean-Trace LM1 Luminometer Software Upgrade when applicable

Information flowing from the 3M Clean-Trace Luminometer to the 3M Clean-Trace Desktop software includes:

Test results, including associated details like:
o
Date and time of test
o
Location details associated with the test
o
User who performed the test
o
Comment(s) if available

The LM1 Luminometer offers three ways of synchronizing, each initiated from the device screen:
▪
Synchronization over USB connection. The use of Sync Manager is required for this method, and the LM1
Luminometer must be physically connected through a USB cord, to the computer running the Sync Manager.
The USB synchronization also enables LM1 Luminometer software upgrade when available.
▪
Synchronization over Wi-Fi connection. The use of Sync Manager is not required for this method. The LM1
Luminometer must be connected to a wireless network capable of communicating with the computer where
the 3M Clean-Trace Desktop Software is installed.
▪
Synchronization over Bluetooth® connection. The use of Sync Manager is required for this method, and the
LM1 Luminometer must be wirelessly connected to the computer running the Sync Manager over a
Bluetooth connection.

The Synchronization process can be initiated from the Sign-in screen or from the Settings screen
▪
Tap
[Sync]
to initiate the 3M Clean-Trace LM1 synchronization.
▪
Successful synchronization will return a Sync Complete message. Tap
[Got it]
to acknowledge.
▪
Unsuccessful synchronization will return a Connection error message. Read the message for possible
remediation actions. Tap
[Retry]
to re-initiate the 3M Clean-Trace LM1 synchronization.
