If you attempt to pair with the Bluetooth Adapter card from a phone,
you must have the Connection Manager running on the PDA to complete
the pairing. If the Connection Manager is not running, the PDA will not
receive the password prompt and the pairing will fail.
Whenever a phone and PDA are paired, and you want to unpair them, it is
recommended that you unpair both devices. Problems can sometimes
occur if the pairing is not deleted on both devices.
Bluetooth Security
The main Bluetooth security features are Authentication and
Authorization. Authentication requires passkey verification before data
can be exchanged. Authorization requires user approval before data can be
shared with another user.
You can also click on the Discoverable icon and make your device non-
discoverable. When non-discoverable, non-paired devices are not able to
see your device.
Synchronization
Prior to using ActiveSync, make sure that you have a partnership set up
on the PC. Make sure the computer is selected from the Bluetooth device
list in the Connection Manager if the computer is not selected,
ActiveSync will try to connect to the selected device.
Once the PDA and the computer have synchronized they are actively con-
nected. To end the connection you need to select the Connection icon
that appears in the lower-right corner of the screen. Select disconnect to
end the active connection.
Removing the Bluetooth Card
Before removing the PC card from the PDA, you should turn off your
PDA to prevent any possibility of data loss or corruption.
